Auto Durocher
Three generations of history
Values passed on from generation to generation
From its start in 1969, Auto Durocher has remained a family business true to its values. Passed on from father to children, our dealership has set itself apart with our people-first approach, extensive vehicle inventory and ability to find a range of financing solutions for all our customers. Auto Durocher means finding the right vehicle at the right price.
2023
Always attuned to the market and the needs of our clientele, we pivot to a revolutionary approach focused on financing. Introducing the innovative IA Durocher tool, we now compare hundreds of financing options for our clients, analyzing terms, rates, and amounts. Our goal? To consistently offer the best financial option, reaffirming once again our commitment to serving our clientele with excellence.
2022
The family continues to grow. Our company has just reached another expansion milestone with the acquisition of a new dealership. We always aim to offer optimal service to the most people we can. That’s why we are expanding with the purchase of a dealership in the Laurentians, the Val-David Mazda.
2021
Today we are one of Québec’s biggest independent dealerships. We deliver over 3,000 vehicles annually without ever compromising our core values. We are a company that cares about people and puts customers first.
2020
The COVID-19 pandemic brought a number of challenges for us as business owners, but the upside was that we could offer the public fully online sales. Customers could now shop for the vehicle of their choice from the comfort of their homes. They could even have their vehicle dropped off at their home thanks to our new mobile office.
2014
Following a request from the City of Laval, we were no longer able to operate our auto repair shop and used vehicle dealership due to our high customer traffic. We decided to follow our dream and buy a building to make Québec’s biggest warehouse. We worked for over a year setting up and constructing what is now Entrepôt Auto Durocher. We were tremendously proud to open it in 2014.
2010
Our online customer service launched. Relying on our creativity, we became pioneers by setting up a specialized web client team to serve our customers and respond to their questions.
2008
Investing in technology is important to us. We became the first dealer to invest in a new technology tool that allows us to position ourselves on the market with the best prices and run quick price comparisons with our competitors. It also provides a way to monitor our inventory and ensure we are optimally positioned.
2003
After completing our studies, my sister Marie-Claude and I (Dominique) decided to join the family business. While working in a family business comes with its own set of challenges, we sincerely believe that our individual strengths are what have allowed us to grow our company to where it is now. We have made every effort to make sure we grew over time. We dreamed of becoming one of the biggest players in the automotive industry and had to work tirelessly to get there. We made great strides and successfully adapted over the years. Working with us truly requires an incredible ability to adapt as we are always taking on new challenges to drive growth.
1998
We acquired a new building a few minutes away from our auto repair shop, customizing it for used vehicle sales. We quickly found our position on the market.
1990
Vehicle sales started. Around 20 used vehicles were now for sale, breathing new life into the company. To operate this new division, we had to expand the auto repair workshop and build a functional office where we could welcome our customers. We also had to learn about the auto sales trade. Our parents quickly realized that the lot wasn’t big enough to serve our growing clientele.
1969
The company was founded by our grandfather, Paul-Émile Durocher, under the name Garage Durocher et Fils. A respected businessman in Laval, he decided to open an auto repair shop with his son and our father, Robert Durocher, who took over the business a few years later. Robert’s astute ideas for the business allowed him to successfully achieve his well-planned projects.
